Horsing Around!!

This is what Burkley found after his nap today; One of the horses standing about 3 inches from our glass door. I think he was just looking for a shady place to cool off.

He left a nice treat for Kenny to clean up!

Bedtime!

Nothing is better than freshly bathed kids in their jammies! Maybe it's cause we know that they will be asleep soon which means rest for mommy. We're still not sure who Marshall looks like but he is showing his personality more and more & Burkley just lights up when he sees him.

And more swimming!

Nothing quite hits the spot like swimming on these blistering hot summer days! I love Seville because the water is still nice and cool and you can just sit and enjoy in the kid pool.
This is how Marshall spent the afternoon - snoozin

"Summertime"

Marshall is 10 weeks old today! He is getting so big & smiles & laughs alot. He sleeps through the night more than not which I love! Burkley loves him & is always giving him kisses.
Look at those rolls!
More swimming! We were invited to go to the pool at Seville again & Burkley had the best time. Marshall stayed at home w/ daddy so mommy could have fun also!
We put floaties on Burk a few weeks ago and he turned into a daredevil even w/out them so I really have to watch him good.
After licking his first set of beaters
Kenny got the frame of his round pen up and has been working the horses.

This is what Burkley thinks swimming is. I'll teach him next summer.

Burkley's chat

Burkley LOVES to get a hold of our phones and pretend he's having a conversation w/ someone. In Kenny's case he's actually called guys he works with a few times! It doesn't matter if it's a real phone or the tv remote or his sippy cup. I am not sure if he's trying to say "hello" or "love you" but he cracks us up! Then when he realizes that I have my camera in front of him he says "cheese." He is picking up on things more and more and it's so fun to watch him grow.

Another escape!

We made another trip up north to cool off and celebrate Pioneer Day in Snowflake. This is how Marshall spent a lot of the weekend.
Burkley and Devyn patiently waiting for "smore time!"
We had an awesome rain and hail storm come through and we sat on the porch and enjoyed it.
Grandpa and Marshall
Burkley's absolute favorite spot at Grandpa Secrist's house is this riding lawn mower in the garage!
We went up with my sister Debbie and her 3 girls, Bettina and Devyn and my mom and dad.
Waiting for the parade to start. This little monkey harness was worth it's weight in gold! One of the best purchases I've ever made. It kept Burkley right where we wanted him and kept him from being part of the parade!
Found a flag and it looks like a piece of candy.

He had fun and was a big mess!

Had to have a sucker to prevent meltdown!

Leaving the heat!

We escaped the heat last weekend and headed up to Heber along with Kenny's aunt & uncle and their kids who came from Utah! It was so fun to be up where the monsoon rains come almost every afternoon. Thunder and lightning were every where! It made us question why we live in the hot valley! We did get to go to a bazaar at the Bison Ranch, took trips to the lake and the rim, rode the quad, ate lots of great food and gathered on the porch every evening to relax and chat. It was so much fun and just the break we were needing!

It was cousin Devyn's 2nd birthday so we celebrated w/ a pinata
Landon w/ Burkley winding down watching Barney! You are too nice Landon!Someone likes Burkley to wear his hat sideways because I have quite a few pics like these.
This was the only way to keep Burkley off the Baci court - a sucker and a ball

Grandpa Secrist & Burkley
This is the bat that grandma bought for the pinata and Burkley wouldn't let go of it the whole weekend. She also sent it home w/ us so hopefully we'll get him to practice hitting the ball some day.
Kayaking w/ daddy at the lake
Venturing out into the soft mud and cool water
Kenny's cousin Marin was a huge help w/ Burkley and Marshall. She is too cute. I told her she didn't have to hold him but she said she liked it.
